Mesh Upper

Keeping your foot well-contained and secure within the shoes, the Wave Mujin 9 uses a mesh upper. This construction allows air to flow freely and comfortably through the shoes, keeping your feet fresh and cosy, and allowing you to concentrate on the trail ahead. Not only this, but the durable mesh protects your feet from knocks and bumps, preventing dirt and mud from entering your shoes.

To keep your feet feeling fresh throughout the duration of your run, the materials are moisture-wicking, meaning the shoes will keep your feet dry even during the more intense sections of your run. The forefoot is protected by thicker material that covers the toes, preventing bumps and shocks from causing any damage. The material surrounding the rearfoot will add further strength and structure offering greater protection, and reducing the risk of injuries. Support panels on the midfoot keep your foot secure and stable in the shoes, whilst a lace-up construction provides your foot with a secure, locked-in fit. Completing the uppers are a soft, cushioned collar and tongue with a lace garage to keep the laces stored without them coming undone.

More than 90% recycled content has been used on the upper body lining textile.

Mizuno Wave Midsole

Mizuno have used their innovative wave technology in the Mujin 9 which uniformly disperses shock throughout the sole, providing excellent cushioning and enhanced stability.

The Mizuno Wave provides flexibility in one direction and support in the other. The Wave absorbs the shock without compromising the comfort or cushioning while the initial shock is then transferred back to guide the athlete onto their next movement. The Mizuno Wave prevents partial deformation and provides dynamic support to stabilize and guide the foot forward for better gait efficiency. The midsole also boasts using Mizuno Enerzy, used throughout the bottom midsole to provide excellent cushioning and energy return. The Mizuno Wave boosts stability without sacrificing cushioning. Because it is equipped at the front and back, it creates a smoother feeling when running on mountain trails.

Michelin Rubber Outsole

To ensure a stable footing with traction and support on varying surfaces, the shoes have a Michelin rubber outsole. The outsole is lightweight, preventing distractions and keeping you focused on the trail ahead. The Wave Mujin 9 has a unique lug design, that slopes on the outers for self-cleaning, to prevent a build-up of mud, and continue to provide you with exceptional grip on changing conditions. A combination of both 6mm lugs and 4mm lugs, further ensures superior levels of grip and traction.
